Methyl Balance™ — Precision Active-Form B Complex with Optifolin+® for Optimal Methylation Support by Dr. Anderson
Methyl Balance™ is a precision methylation support formula developed exclusively by Dr. Anderson — formulated with every B vitamin in its most bioavailable and metabolically ready form. The two most critical methylation cofactors — folate and B12 — are delivered as Optifolin+® active methylfolate and methylcobalamin, the active forms that directly support the methylation cycle without requiring additional enzymatic conversion. B6 is provided as pyridoxal 5-phosphate (P-5-P) — the active coenzyme form. Biotin is included at a high 1,000mcg USP-grade dose.*
One capsule per day. 90 vegetarian capsules per bottle.
What's inside and why it matters
Thiamine HCl (Vitamin B1, 50mg, 4,167% DV) — A high-potency B1 dose supporting normal energy metabolism via pyruvate dehydrogenase and the Krebs cycle, and as a cofactor for one-carbon metabolism that intersects with methylation.*
Riboflavin (Vitamin B2, 15mg, 1,154% DV) — At 1,154% DV, riboflavin is a key cofactor for the MTHFR enzyme and for normal FAD/FMN coenzyme function and cellular energy metabolism.*
Niacin as Niacinamide (100mg NE, 625% DV) — The non-flushing niacinamide form supporting normal NAD+ synthesis — the cellular coenzyme involved in methylation-related DNA repair and histone modification.*
Vitamin B6 as Pyridoxal 5-Phosphate (P-5-P, 20mg, 1,176% DV) — The active coenzyme form of Vitamin B6 — the most important differentiator in Methyl Balance compared to standard B complex formulas that use pyridoxine HCl. P-5-P operates directly in the body's enzymatic reactions without requiring hepatic conversion. P-5-P is the essential cofactor for cystathionine beta-synthase (CBS) — the enzyme that converts homocysteine to cystathionine in the transsulphuration pathway — ensuring immediate cofactor availability, which is especially important for individuals with impaired B6 phosphorylation capacity.*
Folate as Optifolin+® (6S)-5-Methyltetrahydrofolate Choline Salt (850mcg DFE / 500mcg Folate, 213% DV) — Optifolin+® is a patented, registered trademark active folate from Balchem Corporation, delivering L-methylfolate as the most bioavailable and stable choline salt form. Optifolin+® provides (6S)-5-methyltetrahydrofolic acid — the biologically active form of folate that enters the methylation cycle directly as the methyl donor for the conversion of homocysteine to methionine. Unlike standard folic acid, Optifolin+® requires no MTHFR enzyme conversion — making it effective regardless of MTHFR genetic status.*
Vitamin B12 as Methylcobalamin (500mcg, 20,833% DV) — The methyl-group-carrying, active form of B12 at a very high 500mcg dose. Methylcobalamin works in direct partnership with Optifolin+® folate — it is the cofactor for methionine synthase, the enzyme that receives the methyl group from methylfolate and uses it to remethylate homocysteine to methionine. Together, Optifolin+® and methylcobalamin provide the two primary methyl donors and cofactors for normal homocysteine clearance and normal SAMe production.*
Biotin USP (1,000mcg, 3,333% DV) — At 1,000mcg USP-grade — 3,333% of the daily value — this is a high-potency biotin dose. Biotin is an essential cofactor for carboxylase enzymes involved in fatty acid synthesis, gluconeogenesis, and amino acid catabolism, with a specific role in supporting normal gene expression relevant to methylation-dependent epigenetic regulation.*
Pantothenic Acid as d-Calcium Pantothenate (110mg, 2,200% DV) — At 2,200% DV, pantothenic acid provides the precursor to Coenzyme A (CoA) — essential for the metabolic reactions that feed into and from the methylation cycle.*
The methylation cycle — why these specific forms matter
The methylation cycle is the biochemical process through which methyl groups (–CH3) are transferred between molecules to regulate gene expression, neurotransmitter synthesis, detoxification, and thousands of other processes. Optifolin+® and methylcobalamin B12 drive the conversion of homocysteine back to methionine — the precursor to SAMe. P-5-P active B6 supports the transsulphuration pathway — the alternative route through which excess homocysteine is cleared via conversion to cysteine and ultimately glutathione.*
Methyl Balance delivers all three methylation-critical nutrients in their active, coenzyme forms — bypassing the enzymatic conversion steps that may be rate-limiting in individuals with genetic polymorphisms (MTHFR, MTR, MTRR, CBS) that impair normal B vitamin metabolism.*
