Juniper Berry (Juniperus communis, 200mg per capsule) — The highest-dosed ingredient in this formula. Juniper berry is one of the most important botanical urinary tract tonics in European and North American herbal medicine — used for centuries to support normal kidney function and healthy urinary tract tone. Juniper's primary bioactive compound — terpinen-4-ol — is the same compound responsible for the antimicrobial activity of tea tree oil, and it is excreted unchanged through the kidneys, bathing the urinary collecting system as it passes through. Juniper also provides alpha- and beta-pinene, camphor, and sabinene, which support normal urinary antiseptic activity and healthy urine flow.*

Cranberry is the most extensively researched botanical for normal urinary tract health. Its primary bioactive compounds — Type-A proanthocyanidins (PAC-A) — are unique to cranberry and have a well-documented mechanism of action: PAC-A directly inhibits the P-fimbriae adhesion of uropathogenic E. coli (the primary bacterium responsible for urinary tract infections) to uroepithelial cells lining the bladder and urethra.
