Stomach Ingredients
Betaine HCl 98% (220mg per serving) — Betaine hydrochloride is the primary stomach acid support ingredient in this formula. Adequate gastric acid is essential for the activation of pepsin, the denaturation of dietary proteins, the ionisation of minerals for absorption, and as the first line of defence against pathogens in food. Low stomach acid — a common issue particularly in older adults and those on acid-suppressing medications — impairs all downstream digestive processes. L-Glutamic Acid (220mg per serving) — Included alongside Betaine HCl as an additional acidifying agent. L-Glutamic acid's hydrochloride form contributes to the formula's gastric acid support, working synergistically with Betaine HCl to optimise stomach pH for protein digestion and pepsin activation.*
Pepsin (200mg, 1:3,000 potency, 3,000 FCC units/mg) — Pepsin is the primary proteolytic enzyme produced by the stomach, active specifically in the acid pH range (pH 1.5–3.5) and responsible for the initial breakdown of dietary proteins into peptides. This formula pairs Betaine HCl with Pepsin — providing both the acid environment and the enzyme needed for complete gastric protein digestion. Intestine Ingredients
Pancreatin 10X (167mg per serving) — Pancreatin is a complex of enzymes produced by the pancreas and secreted into the small intestine to digest proteins, fats, and carbohydrates. The "10X" concentration means this is ten times the standard potency of pancreatin. Specific activity levels: Amylase 41,750 USP (carbohydrate digestion), Lipase 3,340 USP (fat digestion), and Protease 41,750 USP (protein digestion). These USP activity units are standardised measurements that allow direct comparison of potency between products — and these figures reflect a high-activity pancreatin.*
Pancrelipase (100mg) — An additional lipase-rich pancreatic enzyme concentrate with high specificity for fat digestion.
