What's inside and why it matters
Magnesium as Magnesium Carbonate (15mg, 4% DV) — Magnesium carbonate is a mildly alkalising compound that directly neutralises stomach acid and contributes to normal gastric pH buffering.*
Sodium as Sodium Bicarbonate (7mg, <1% DV) — Sodium bicarbonate rapidly releases CO₂ and neutralises stomach acid on contact, providing the fastest-acting alkalising component in this formula.*
Potassium as Potassium Bicarbonate (43mg, <1% DV) — Potassium bicarbonate provides alkalising capacity while supporting normal electrolyte balance. The combination of magnesium carbonate, sodium bicarbonate, and potassium bicarbonate provides a tri-mineral alkalising buffer across different pH ranges.*
Grapefruit Fruit Pectin (Citrus × paradisi, 100mg per tablet) — The highest-dosed ingredient in this formula. Grapefruit pectin is a water-soluble dietary fibre that forms a viscous gel when hydrated, supporting the formation of a physical gel barrier over the gastric mucosal surface — a natural demulcent effect that protects the mucosa from acid exposure and supports normal gastric comfort.*
Bismuth Subnitrate (50mg per tablet) — The most distinctive ingredient in this formula. Bismuth subnitrate is a bismuth salt with well-established gastric mucosal protective and antimicrobial properties. Bismuth compounds coat the gastric mucosa, creating a protective layer that shields gastric cells from acid and supports normal gastric mucosal integrity. Bismuth also has documented activity against Helicobacter pylori — the most common gastric pathogen.*
Soy Lecithin (50mg per tablet) — Soy lecithin provides phosphatidylcholine — the primary phospholipid component of gastric mucosal membranes. The gastric mucus layer contains high concentrations of phosphatidylcholine, which is essential for the hydrophobic nature of the mucus that protects gastric epithelial cells from acid. Supplemental phosphatidylcholine has been studied for its role in supporting normal gastric mucosal barrier integrity. Contains soy.*
Licorice Root Extract 4:1 (Glycyrrhiza glabra, 10mg per tablet) — A 4:1 concentrated extract equivalent to 40mg of raw licorice root per tablet. Licorice root supports the production of mucin — the gel-forming protein of the gastric mucus layer — and supports normal gastric mucosal cell maintenance.*
