Uric acid — why targeted support matters

Uric acid is the end product of purine metabolism in humans. Unlike most mammals, humans lack the enzyme uricase (which converts uric acid to more soluble allantoin) — meaning humans are entirely dependent on renal uric acid excretion to maintain normal blood urate levels. Its primary bioactive compounds — steroidal saponins (including sarsasapogenin and smilagenin) — support normal NF-κB pathway regulation and healthy inflammatory balance in joints and connective tissue. Yucca root saponins also support normal intestinal health by reducing bacterial urease activity — supporting the reduction of ammonia and nitrogen compounds that can increase uric acid precursor load.
